Jo Motoyo’s directed short “Because We Are Strange Creatures”
shines at CICLOPE Asia 2022! 2022.09.06
TOKYO is delighted to receive news that Jo Motoyo‘s directed short “Because We Are Strange Creatures” for Jacob Jonas the Company made it into the FINALIST in the Low Budget category at CICLOPE Asia 2022.
Jo was invited to direct a piece among 30 other directors for Jacob Jonas the Company. Those films were shot during the COVID-19 pandemic, involving over 250 artists from more than 25 countries.
Jo also wrote lyrics for the first time. “Asian Hate as the underlying theme”. She quoted. “We, as humans, try to live together as one, all the while struggling to comprehend, and suffering under, our own fates. This is an issue I’ve personally lived with for a long time.”
